Rahul Dev Gets EMOTIONAL As He Recalls Raising Son Alone After His Wife’s Death Due To Cancer: ‘There Were Times I Would Lose My Cool’
Bollywood actor Rahul Dev has opened up about raising his son Siddharth Dev alone after the death of his wife Rina Dev. He recalled there were times when he would lose his cool and frame of mind while trying to be both mother and father to his son. Rahul also pointed out that being widowed in real life is very difficult unlike as shown in films. For the unversed, Rahul Dev’s wife Rina passed away in 2009 due to cancer.

Speaking with Connect FM Canada, the Champion actor stated, “Parenting is not easy at all. Women have a big hand in raising children, the way they understand children, probably because it comes out of them. The kind of patience they have for children, I tried a lot, but there were times when I would lose my cool, my frame of mind. I had to try to be both mom and dad.” ALSO READ: Mugdha Godse On The 14 Years Age Difference With Boyfriend Rahul Dev; ‘I Do Not Look At It That Way’

Rahul also narrated that during parent-teacher meetings at school, he would see mostly mothers, rarely he would meet a guy alone. At that time he would feel a “sense of deep insecurity, he would feel where are the men.” Dev added, “It's very painful. A lot of it I don't want to remember. A lot of it I would not wish on anyone, that kind of situation. It looks easy in films, so many times films show that someone became a widower. But starting again is not easy at all.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, the 53-year-old actor is widely known for playing villains in movies. His debut film 'Champion' with Sunny Deol earned him accolades both from critics and audiences. Rahul Dev will next be seen in the upcoming Kannada film titled 'Kabzaa' which also stars Upendra, Shriya Saran, and Kiccha Sudeep.
